Central Valley ASC
Merit Awards Program Guidelines
1. Only
CVASC members in good standing are eligible to receive CVASC Merit Awards.
2. Each
CVASC member is responsible for reporting their dog's points to the Merit
Program Secretary.
3. All
dogs must be ASCA registered and owned or co-owned by a CVASC member in good
standing at the time points are earned.
4. The
program will include any wins at ASCA sanctioned shows from January 1st
through December 31st of each year, or from date dog owner becomes a
CVASC member during that year.
5. All
points must be submitted to the Merit Program Secretary. A completed form with
the Show Secretary signature is required.
6. All
forms must be submitted no later than Jan. 5 of the year for inclusion in the
previous years results.
7. Official
forms will be available for download on the website or from the Merit Program
Secretary. Forms will also be available
from the Show Secretary.at CVASC shows.
8. Points
will be calculated according to the categories listed below.
AWARD
CATEGORIES
HIGH
POINT JUNIOR HANDLER: 5 points for Best Junior
Handler plus 1 point for each Junior defeated.
Jr. Handlers competing in Obedience, Herding, Agility or Tracking will
be recognized with a certificate at the YEA Banquet.
HIGH
POINT PUPPY: Class pups with ribbon
placement earn 1 point for each puppy dog/bitch defeated. BOBP earns 1 point for each puppy
defeated. BOSP earns 1 point for each
puppy of the same sex defeated.
HIGH
POINT CLASS DOG/BITCH OR ALTERED CLASS DOG/BITCH:
Class dogs/bitches with ribbon placement earn 1 point for each dog/bitch
defeated in that class. Winner Dog/Bitch receives 1 point for each
dog/bitch of the same sex defeated. BOW
also receives 1 point for each class dog/bitch of the opposite sex
defeated. If Class dog/bitch goes BOS, add 1 point for each special of the
same sex defeated. If Class dog/bitch
goes BOB, add 1 point for each special defeated.
HIGH
POINT CHAMPION (SPECIAL) DOG/BITCH OR ALTERED CHAMPION DOG/BITCH:
Best of Breed receives one point for each class dog, class bitch and
Special defeated. Best of Opposite Sex
receives one point for each class dog and Special dog of the same sex only.
HIGH
POINT VETERAN: One point for each veteran dog/bitch
defeated.
HIGH
POINT OBEDIENCE: Obedience point tabulation will be as
follows:
NOVICE: Average
of the three highest qualifying scores for the year with a minimum of two
scores.
OPEN: Average
of the three highest qualifying scores for the year with a minimum of two
scores.
UTILITY: Average
of the three highest qualifying scores for the year with a minimum of two
scores.
HIGH
POINT HERDING: Scores will be accumulated from
any ASCA sanctioned trial, a legible copy of the herding score sheet will be
accepted provided it is postmarked within 30 days of the trial date. Points will be tabulated as follows:
STARTED:
Average of qualifying scores for the year with a minimum of two scores.
OPEN:
Average of qualifying scores for the year with a minimum of two scores.
ADVANCED:
Average of qualifying scores for the year with a minimum of two scores.
HIGH
POINT AGILITY: Points will be accumulated from
Standard Titling only and from
ASCA Sanctioned trials only. Points are given for qualifying runs only
and for placements as follows:

points for a clean, unfaulted run, under standard course time.
5
points for a run with a total of 5 or less faults
1st
Place = 4 points
2nd
Place = 3 points
3rd
Place= 2 points
4th
Place = 1 points
Awards
will be given by Division. There will
be an award for Novice, Open, Elite and Veteran.
MOST
VERSATILE: To earn the Most Versatile
Aussie Award, each entry must compete in Conformation, Stockdog and either
Agility, or Obedience or Tracking .
Conformation points will be awarded per the conformation class dog/bitch
or special dog/bitch schedule. The points awarded from Stockdog will be the average of all qualifying scores earned in
that venue. Obedience scores will be calculated
from the average of the two highest scores earned during the program year.
Agility
scores will be the total points earned during the program year. Tracking will be the average of the top two
scores earned during the program year. Each entry must earn a qualifying score
at least one Stockdog class, 1 conformation class and from at least one of the
three performance programs, Agility, Obedience or Tracking. Ties for Most Versatile Aussie will be
broken using the highest Stockdog score.
In case a tie still exists, the dog with the highest number of
qualifying scores in all MVA qualifying events will prevail. If the tie is still not broken, dual
placements shall be awarded.
DISPUTES
WILL BE RESOLVED BY THE CVASC BOARD OF DIRECTORS. BOARD DECISIONS WILL BE FINAL.
Awards will be announced at the annual
banquet with recognition on the CVASC website for winners.
Note:
Each dog may be counted only once for points calculations.
